What’s that you say? It’s the end of a mutinous era and you never even made it to a Sepia Mutiny Meetup? Rajni the Monkey went wild in the bunker once he heard this news and is now throwing poop at your computer screen. But ask and The Mutiny delivers – at least for the next 15 days till the April 1st door slam. ANNA revived the 55 Friday because of this tweet and hell, thanks to this forlorn tweet from @YungCoconut and @AmericanTurban, I will do the same.
Join Manish, Vinod, Pavani and myself for the Cali swagest meetup of your mutinous lifetime in San Francisco on Saturday March 31st. We know that you Alterna-Desi types have already bought your tickets to the 8th annual Yoni Ki Baat performance. “Yoni Ki heh…?” you ask? Desi, please.
South Asian Sisters are back again to present another brand new script with funny, touching, sensational, and thought-provoking raw performances submitted by South Asian women across the country! [southasiansisters]
For more info and to purchase tickets to the March 31st & April 1st San Francisco Yoni Ki Baat shows, please check out their site here.
As for the LAST CHANCE AT GOING TO A SEPIA MUTINY MEETUP…
- New Time: 2:30pm – 6:30pm
- Date: Saturday, March 31st, 2012
- New Location: The Liberties Bar, 998 Guerrero Street San Francisco, CA 94110
- Facebook Event Page Right Here
Please comment below if you will be able to make it! Since this is the last meetup – EVER – I highly suggest out-of-towners fly into SF for a Cesar Chavez long weekend of Mutinous fun. If you have a bar/lounge suggestion (that is open at 4:30pm) do let me know and we can change the local, as long as we keep it in The Mission. And if you can’t come to the meetup but want to keep in touch – you can always find us on twitter, too.
It’s not goodbye – it’s just a farewell, for now. I’ll see y’all on the internet flip side and by that I mean IRL.
One small point of clarification: it’s the last official San Francisco meetup. I am hosting meetups in D.C. and NYC. Dates, details and separate meetup post to come (and thank you, NYC mutineers for stepping up and helping with logistics).
That gives you readers, lurkers, monkeys and trolls THREE opportunities in three cities on two coasts to make it to a meetup, if you still need to cross that off your balti list. 🙂
Yay! NO EXCUSES NOW PEOPLE.
Anna: Sign me up for a DC meetup, anytime. Oh btw invite Kenyandesi, Cinnamon Rani, ChickPea, and one more (I forgot the name….but it was El Capitan or something like that). I still reminisce the one you arranged at Amma in Georgetown where Abhi, my wife Rashmi and I first met you. Cheers.
Yo Dad! I’m flattered you remember us! I’m in LA now, so I’m going to try and make the SF meetup.
Anyone interested in carpooling up to SF from SoCal?
You are in LA? I just moved back to LA! I’m flying up to the Bay though for this though. Would be great to see you though!
Taz, yes we are in LA, although sadly we are headed back east soon (May). We actually know a lot of people in common out here, it’ll be fun catching up in SF 🙂
So sad! But I am looking forward to the proposed NYC meetup!
How can I turn this down?
Yay East Coast! I never made to one before, so I will do my absolute best to get to either NYC or DC for a meetup as long as it’s not March 29-April 1. I’m between the two cities geographically, but let me know if I can do anything to help — bring my giant CostCo bag of fancy party cups, drive short people in my tiny car, etc.
Count me in for the DC meetup, Anna! Really sad to hear about Sepia Mutiny’s impending shutdown. I look back fondly on the last two meetups I attended, one at Heritage India and the other at Amma’s Kitchen in Georgetown. 🙂 This was back in 2008-2009 I think, and I never could attend any after that. But I will definitely be there for this one! I wonder, even if the blog winds up, couldn’t we keep the meetups going? Just a thought…
Count me in! I’m excited to actually make it to a SF meet up.
I will try to make it (have always wanted to attend a meet-up, but never had one in the cities I was living in), but if I can’t – I will definitely see y’all at Yoni Ki Baat!
