Pakistani-American comedian Kumail Nanjiani, on “Benjamin Button”:
I also think some of his other bits are pretty good: The Thing, A New Drug Called Cheese, and Cellphones and Horror. It looks like this promo has material related to life in Pakistan, which I for one would be curious to hear more about.
For those in the NY area, Kumail Nanjiani is performing as part of a festival called “Minority Fest” this Friday, December 11, in Brooklyn. Other people participating in the event include Das Racist. and Hari Kondabolu, both Sepia Mutiny favorites. More info. about Minority Fest can be found here.
p.s. I’m at the Pizza Hut, I’m at the Taco Bell. I’m at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. What.
Very funny – as one comment on the youtube page stated – this bit went the best possible way it could have gone.
Many have also stated that the movie was also too similar to Forrest Gump – man who has xyz gimmick has different adventures throughout history, touching peoples’ lives. Still can’t believe they’re remaking it with The Bachchan.
This guy is great. Best line – This movie is set during hurricane Katrina…….for no reason. Most money spent on Katrina.
His bit on The Thing is also great:

Has nothing to do with Forrest Gump
“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and first published in Colliers Magazine on May 27, 1922. It was subsequently anthologized in his book, Tales of the Jazz Age, which occasionally is published as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Jazz Age Stories.
The original story was set in Boston, but the movie is set in New Orleans @ Brad Pitt’s request/ demand. There are some significant differences between the movie and Fitzgerald’s story, but nothing to do with Forrest Gump.
Correction: The original story was set in Baltimore, but the movie is set in New Orleans @ Brad Pitt’s request/ demand and incentives given by State of Louisiana.
I saw on the Huffington Post the other day a story about this guy(Kumail) and John Mayer getting into a war of words on stage at a comedy club.
John Mayer the Rockstar/wanna be comedian was trying his luck at stand up comedy and it didnt go to well and Kumail was on right after him and I guess Kumail said some stuff that didnt sit well with John. Apparently John jumped up on stage during Kumail’s set and started called him “Kabul” instead of “Kumail.” Talking about another person’s race is the card people pull out when they have nothing witty to say.

ha ha, those were pretty funny, I like his movie ones a lot… too bad the quality of the videos are not so great, would definitely enjoy seeing some more of his work.
“Just do the heroin,” haha. Thanks for sharing, A.
Thanks for the heads-up! I heard about last night’s event from this post, went, and had a good time. Hari Kondabolu & Kumail Nanjiani were especially awesome, but I also enjoyed the Ali Wong, Sheng Wang, and Baron Vaughn acts.
