Could Scott Brown be any Browner?

Did anyone catch the speech of Massachusetts’ new Senator-elect, Republican Scott Brown last night? I just saw the video of his speech and I think I was as shocked as anyone when he veered off-script to pimp out, I mean talk about his two daughters. But it did sound awfully familiar. Hmm, could Brown be ‘browner’ than we all thought? Who among us hasn’t heard a desi parent laud the virtues of their single child on the marriage market?

Brown, during his jubilant acceptance speech on Tuesday night, did the right thing and paused to acknowledge his family.

“As always, I rely on Gail’s love and support, and that of our two lovely daughters. So I want to thank Ayla and Arianna for their help as well,” Brown said, turning to his wife, TV reporter Gail Huff, and their daughters, Ayla, 21 – a one-time “American Idol” finalist – and Arianna, 19.

But then Brown went horribly wrong, at least in the Dad department – adding that his daughters were both “available.”

“Just in case anyone who’s watching throughout the country, yes they’re both available,” Brown shouted. [Link.]

But it gets worse, he goes on to list the relevant facts on their marital biodata. Hmm, so Arianna is a pre-med at Syracuse? And Ayla was on American Idol and played college basketball? How long before they’re both listed on republicanshaadi.com? Or perhaps he can get them [a centerfold in Cosmo (NSFW)](http://www.cosmopolitan.com/celebrity/news/scott-brown-nude-in-cosmo, much like he did years ago)?

  1. Trashy! If this isn’t an indicator of the calibre of freeper decency, I don’t know what is.

  2. Do politicians in India even solicit rishtas for their single children? If not, he might have out-browned them.

  3. last name as indian as Ramachandran, advertises his daughters, free-trader, torpedoes HCR…definitely an authentic desi.

  4. How could the new senator be brown, both of his children are female. If he was really brown, he would not stop until he had a son to carry the family name.

  5. Obama never had the right, and now he’s making noises about a “bipartisan” agenda, which, given the Republicans’ intransigence, pretty much means he will lose the left too. And I am not talking just the far left, which he’s pretty much lost. Whom does he think he’s going to win his next election with?

I honestly cannot believe he thinks that abandoning the current health care bill is the politically smart thing to do. It will be seen as a huge victory for republicans, and a big loss for Dems, and that is a no-win sitch for him.

  6. “Just in case anyone who’s watching throughout the country, yes they’re both available,” Brown shouted.

Or, as another legendary son of Massachusetts might’ve said, “Ask not whom Brown can do for you, ask whom you can do for Brown.”

  7. i’m still gobsmacked. really just a failure by the dems of spectacular proportions. she freakin’ goes on vaca in dec? satanic child ritual abuse? really represents the worst of the cult of victimology left. like she’s the product of a one night stand between joe arpaio and andrea dworkin or something. could very well end HRC and transform this presidency. stunning.

  8. I know you have good intentions but it will help to put a qualifier that the brown people you know may talk like this then painting everyone with a broad brush..

im assuming/hoping that her blog post was written tongue in cheek… take a deep breath and relax, its going to be okay

  10. could very well end HRC and transform this presidency.

Oy! Freudian slip or what? HCR != HRC.

As for Brown, it was clearly a dig at the relaxed family values so prevalent in Massachusetts. Had it been New Jersey, he would have offered his daughter’s kidneys and/or their fake Gucci bags.

  11. Scott Brown, a lot like my own mum it seems, simply does not know when to stop! The only thing left is for him to talk about how his daughter is ‘top of the class!’ (my mum’s translation for ‘my grades were good/okay’).

Yikes..and according to the PUMA’s (yeah, they’re still out there and they are not repub sockpuppets) who I check in on every once in a while, this is the beginning of a HRC presidency…she resigns to challenge an unpopular Obama for the ’12 nom., o r so the theory goes.

Earth to PUMAs: If Obama is not popular enough to run again essentially unchallenged for the Dem nom in ’12, a Dem ain’t getting elected to the presidency. And if Obama ain’t gettin’ elected in ’12, that makes it very difficult for HRC to win in ’16.

  14. Not to mention their proud shaadi.com photos!

i would happily take either or both of them off the market…

  15. he did say “just kidding”. I think he was, as they say, roasting, toasting and boasting 😉

  16. that makes it very difficult for HRC to win in ’16.

She knows how to pick off some southern states.

  17. Obama likes to bomb brown people, but this was cool. And Olberman = Limbaugh. Time to vote independent
