SM Toronto Meet-up Saturday! North of the border love

You say you are pissed because there hasn’t been a north-of-the-border SM meet-up in 3 YEARS in 2 YEARS, eh? Well we are going to have to do something about that now aren’t we, eh? My passport is ready and Neha (a.k.a.Currylingus) is coming out of hiding to co-host (I know, I am excited about that too). There will be a Sepia Mutiny meet-up this Sat at 5p.m. in Toronto!

When: Saturday May 24th at 5p.m.

Where: The Epicure Café. Neha says, “It ain’t desi but the head chef is Sri Lankan so that counts for something ;-)

Who: Abhi, Neha, and SM readers from Toronto or elsewhere in Canada. Readers, lurkers, commenters, and their friends/family welcome

What: Food, drinks, mutinous socializing, torrid affairs. Don’t be nervous, none of us are intelligent in person.

Why: We can’t tell you until we see you.

How: Hell, ride with a Mountie if you need to. I don’t care, just find a way.

RSVP to abhi at sepiamutiny dot com

179,470 visitors in the past year (20,093 from Toronto alone). We know you are out there. Come for Canada.

  1. Crap – I’ll be missing out on this one as well. If only it were winter I could round up my team of faithful Huskies and be in Toronto by Saturday.

  2. 1) do you notice how much those kanadians just LOVE the united states? they’re all hugging our border ;-) hahahahaha!

    2) isn’t 5 PM a bit late??? when does it start frosting up there?

    3) too bad with the currency situation you aren’t rich anymore….

  3. Finally, can meet all the single, intelligent desi women ? I hope so :) see yah there!

  4. Beware Canadians are quite grouchy this time of the year since their igloos have mostly melted.

  5. You guys do know that this Saturday is game 1 of the Stanley Cup final and another year the losers Toronto Maple Leafs came nowhere close to getting the cup. So should expect a good turnout for this.

  6. When are we going to have a meetup in London….and I don’t mean Ontario. There have to be plenty of mutineers this side of the pond, in the old world. Speak up, chaps and chapettes! We need to get together and show these American pretenders how to have some real intellectual, socially-aware, ironic, post-modern conversation.

  7. People keep asking about this, but it’s never happened: what about an Atlanta meetup? There are brown folks all over the place here, and the SM blog format doesn’t make it easy for readers to communicate and organize one ourselves.

Bah! Who needs haute cuisine and copious sunshine when you can have rampant street crime and creaking public transport ;) rudie_c, we could always talk to Vinod and I’ll start a discussion on the Mutiny Facebook page, let’s gauge the interest..

  11. Whoa. I just wanna know who is posting here from Iqaluit (the northernmost point on the map up there). And also Yellowknife.

  12. What, yaar, you didn’t think brown people lived in the Arctic? We’re truly everywhere… I’m sorry I’ll miss the Mutiny meet-up in T.O. though.
