It’s been way too long since we’ve done meetups in two of the most desi-licious cities in the US. So, mutineer A N N A and I have joined forces to coordinate our travel scheds and bring you the Sepia Mutiny Summer Road Tour – a back to back meetups in NYC & SF.
The following dates & places are still tentative but we wanted to pass y’all the heads up ASAP –

p>You’d better believe that we’ll do our part to Help Vinay & Sameer at the meetups. Special prizes to anyone else who manages to attend both meetups. And, as usual, we’ll do our best to document the depravity in our flickr group.
Speaking of depravity and flickr, I never did see pics posted for the July DC meetup. Anyone, anyone?
Booo! Missing the SF MeetUp by one week!
Camille,
there are no other south indian restaurants in SF. period. regardless, i don’t think the food at Dosa is terrible. i guess you meant other north indian restaurants. i find it’s increasingly chic-hipster to be negative these days but i think Dosa makes a worthwhile effort on south indian food. sure it’s not a traditional spot with food from amma’s kitchen, but if i’m pressed to show friends south indian cuisine in SF or very very close by, i’d have no reservations taking them to Dosa. maybe my experience was unusually good or your was unusually bad.

I’ll be at the SF meetup! Whoot.
I will be there! 🙂
Of course! We can be 23 and twee together!
absolutgcs, of course, it’s just a matter of taste 🙂
What! The restaurant needs 2 high chairs, and a full jungle gym now? I think the meetup needs to be moved to Chi-Chi’s at this rate.
Ahh!! yesss! Good reason to re-de-lurk… Will be there at Verlaine’s 🙂
Anna – hope you feel better soon!
finally–a nyc meetup! awesome. will be there for sure.
Rahul uncle, don’t begrudge us our youth 😉 Should I bring Metamucil and Fixodent for you?
Hmmmm SF…dare I?
um, dare i even ask this…? what’s the policy on bringing non-desi, non-white spouses to meet ups?
I’m pretty sure that the policy is that you should feel free/welcome to bring them!

Will be de-lurking at the SF meetup!
Hi – I’ll be a first-timer at the meet-up, but i’ve been reading SM for a while – look forward to seeing you all at NYC!
What’s the average age of most attendees? I am 20, too young?
you should feel comfortable bringing anyone who’s interested in coming. period.
I’ll try to get out to Verlaine. Somebody’s b-day is that day so I’m not sure. Is there anyway that someone can email me contact info so that if the crowd moves elsewhere I can find you later?
You wont be the oldest person there, but you might not be the youngest either. It all depends. But 20 is definitely not too young.
Anybody can show up to a meetup. They don’t have to be brown or married to somebody brown or dating somebody brown or anything. They don’t need to justify their presence or their identity at all. We do know what it’s like to be ethnically different from everybody else around you.
Except on a Saturday night, won’t Verlaine be carding? Just sayin’.
How about doing another meet up in Houston?
