Los Angeles Meetup: Friday, December 15th

Is this the last ever Los Angeles Meet-up? Hard to say. Why risk it? The date is unfortunately non-negotiable since Sepia Mutiny’s Los Angeles Bureau is closing its doors in December and relocating to our newly purchased state-of-the-art blogging facility in Houston, Texas (no state taxes in TX).

Time: After 7p.m. (and until the cops come knocking).

Place: TBD. Check this post early next week (or check our Events Tab).

Who: Last time we had like 40-50 people show up and it was a damn good time (ended at 2a.m.).

I will post another reminder on the Tuesday before the meet-up. Mark you calendars now. Last time we met at the Golden Gopher. I’m still checking out options for this one.

    NOOOOOOOO! you have to keep an outpost in LA, you have to keep the meetups coming for LA, how else are we going to get our hollywood desis to join the mutiny??? This is just too sad to be true!!! sob cry

    And as for the LA outpost being closed, Abhi, we can even come up with virtual outposts (the bunker residents appointing local mutineer to man a virtual outpost in the wild) 😉

    It is going to be freezing end of this week…but I am still up for a meetup.

    Ennis, is it spring yet? I am waiting for the next Chicago meetup. We should have a fun formal type like the one Anna has planned for DC in december.

  27. I’ll make it out in time for my first, and SM’s last, LA meetup. Am also in the middle of finals, but will bring my stressed-out, studying self to the bar (?) for a merry time.

    PS to Abhi — try Cabo on Wilshire, El Coyote on Beverly, or Nirvana for safety. Last time, downtown was simply too traffic-ky to make way across town (unless it was the Standard rooftop). Preferring more divey places, Santa Monica or the westside may be easier for others?

By any chance, did you once escort another desi girl from that treehouse thing to your dorm room and then through UCLA’s student ghetto on a wild goose cell phone chase to get to a party during a UC environmental convergence?

  37. I can’t make it, taz. Too much deadline-type-crap flying around. Friday don’t mean nothin’ to me anymore… But I really hate missing this meetup. The last one was incredible. Believe me, if I had any chance, I’d be there. What’s the location?
