It’s summertime. That means no new episodes of Community featuring one of the best (and hottest) TV bromances to ever exist–Troy + Abed. But you can watch Danny Pudi, who plays the Abed half of that TV couple, in a cute and fun new music video from Raphael Saadiq. The video for “Day Dreams” from Saadiq’s Stone Rollin‘ album is directed by Arj Barker’s co-star from Flight of the Conchords, Bret McKenzie.

Danny Pudi probably has the friendliest looking face on tv.
I actually am looking forward to the bone chilling cold weather of winter just so I can watch me some Community.
Came to your blog after a long time. Don’t see the kind of posts that were written here in the past. Has the character of this blog changed a bit. Please try to focus more on desis and the aspect of sub-continental identity, which was the hallmark of this site.
Thanks for your feedback Indian Writer. I feel like I am trying. I’ll keep on trying.
I find it funny that you refer to Bret McKenzie, one of the two leads in Flight of the Conchords, as Arj Barker’s co-star on that show. I mean, there was no conceivable way to get in a desi-reference to Barker otherwise, but I think that just highlights how it’s irrelevant. You could have gone with “one-time FotC guest Aziz Ansari’s co-star.” I kid, I kid.
Although I might not have noticed without you mentioning that he directed it, the video certainly bears McKenzie’s aesthetic influence (if that doesn’t go without saying almost by definition). Also dug Saadiq’s shout-out to [Robert] Randolph, the pedal steel guitar master.
premiumshlock–yep, the Barker reference is a bit of a stretch 🙂 If you dig the Randolph shout-out then you might like watching him perform the song along with Saadiq too (Tonight Show).
