Anand Jon: Now With Less Hair, More Victims

A few of you have sent in tips about Anand Jon’s latest legal issues. Here are some blockquotes about the dirty and disgraced designer, which I ganked from Reuters:

A celebrity fashion designer already accused of raping or sexually assaulting 12 women and girls who came to him as aspiring models was charged on Tuesday with attacks on six additional victims.
Los Angeles prosecutors have now charged Anand Jon, an Indian-born designer who has appeared on the popular television show “America’s Next Top Model,” with a total of 46 counts involving 18 victims, all with ties to the fashion industry and between the ages of 14 and 27.

Anand Jon Alexander, who was notorious for being a douche to our girl Julie Titus during season 3, is out on bail.

The charges against Jon include forcible rape, sexual battery, sexual penetration by a foreign object, sodomy by use of force, forcible oral copulation, false imprisonment by violence, assault with the intent to commit a felony, lewd act on a child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and sexual exploitation of a child.

Oh, and as for the title of this post…Jon cut his “trademark” flowing tresses. Seventy percent of you had no idea he even had long hair, and I applaud you for your ignorance. Sepia Mutiny: we read TMZ so you don’t have to.

  1. And the racist New York times does not even give this news the front page pride of place that Paris Hilton got. The man continues to keep us down, in cahoots with the gray lady.

  2. And the racist New York times does not even give this news the front page pride of place that Paris Hilton got.

You mean, as opposed to the other papers that didn’t put this story on their front pages?

    Oh, wait. They did.

  3. Hedley Lamarr: Qualifications? Anand Jon: Rape, murder, arson, and rape. Hedley Lamarr: You said rape twice. Anand Jon: I like rape…

  4. ugh…disgusting. and he’s malayalee too–hate that part the most. high-profile and disgusting.

  5. I can only shake my head. The less I hear about this story the more it ends up being painful. He’s a creep wish he’d fall off the face of the earth in the same crevice as Paris and Lindsey and other spoilt tarts.

  6. Anna:

I (kinda) get why you have posted this story under the the “humor” tag : but given the nature of the story : maybe not appropriate?

    EcO

  7. anna, did you notice in the TMZ article that Anand has a new lawyer?

    name is Danny Davis.

Ronald Richards even has posted a comment (#41)to make it absolutely clear he has severed ALL links with Anand Jon.

interesting that Anand picked Danny, who is even more famous than Richards, the two time, national NCAA champion in debate!

not to be outdone, Danny’s had a movie made about him – played by none other than the very talented, very prolific James Woods.

James did such a good job playing Anand’s lawyer that he scored the lead role in Rudy: The Rudy Guliani Story.

    check it out on imdb.

    no, for real …

  8. I (kinda) get why you have posted this story under the the “humor” tag : but given the nature of the story : maybe not appropriate?

FYI- the “Humor” category isn’t just used when the subject of a post is funny, it’s often used on this site to signal that sarcasm, snark, satire are present, even if the post is actually about something serious. This is a joke:

Seventy percent of you had no idea he even had long hair, and I applaud you for your ignorance. Sepia Mutiny: we read TMZ so you don’t have to.

Tagging a post with humor doesn’t signal disrespect, especially for victims. No one here is mocking them. Anand Jon…well, sarcasm on this site is the least of his problems now.

  9. Why isn’t anyone concerned about the fact that there is no evidence to back any of these allegations? As the numbers get higher, I get more suspicious that it’s a scam, a casting call by the DA. Why haven’t any well-known clients/associates of him alleged anything more than that he is an asshole (as most fashion designers are)?

  10. I’m not convinced he’s any different from Karl Lagerfeld or any other male fashion designer in the anecdotes about his way with models etc. at clubs etc.

  11. Why isn’t anyone concerned about the fact that there is no evidence to back any of these allegations?

18 women/girls with no history of false allegations accuse a man with a prior of rape and you see know evidence?

I’m not convinced he’s any different from Karl Lagerfeld or any other male fashion designer in the anecdotes about his way with models etc. at clubs etc

    .

then why has no one accussed karl of rape. and karl, unlike anand, has $$$, so you’d have a plausable motive.

  12. in any case, they’ve only just arrested him (and indicted?). this takes a much lower level of evidence than e.g. a conviction. plus, weren’t some of these incidents with minors? that’s statutory rape – all they need to prove is sex (and her age), not consent.

Why haven’t any well-known clients/associates of him alleged anything

are the accounts of well-known people more important? even if it happened with them, the effects on their reputation might be preventing them from coming forward. plus, anand jon is a relatively small-time designer – plausibly less well-known models would be easier targets in his mind. for a small-time guy, acting improperly with well-known models, associates etc is a major career risk.

  13. Not that it matters in the end, but isn’t Karl teh gay?

hmmm. i guess it would be hard for karl to rape. sice he is the gay, who can he rape?

  14. hmmm. i guess it would be hard for karl to rape. sice he is the gay, who can he rape?

Why, black lace fan-haters, of course. Or maybe even A.Jon,who is also a man. I think the bright side of this story is that Mr.Jon -cough(sellout)cough- finally cut that atrocious hair. What a gift to fashion!

  15. lagerfeld is notoriously abusive and nasty with the ladies as part of his show. Don’t know who he loves. most of those allegations are as much a part of the business as cocaine and cigarettes. Statutory rape as such is a sham in this case; a 14-year old is capaple of consenting to sex. If there was no consent, that would be a rape, but this remains unproven. Motives beyond money which jon has can include (perhaps justifiable) vindictiveness. It is not a crime (thank god!) to be sleazy.

  16. a 14-year old is capaple of consenting to sex

perhaps, but perhaps not. i think there is a distinctly different dynamic when a 14-year-old is having sex with a 35-year old man than when she is having sex with a 15-year old guy. the statutory rape laws were written at a time when adolescents were quite honestly not as sexually active as they are now. yet, not all adiolescents are sexually active, so in many ways, they strict rule makes sense – less case-by-case analysis by courts. furthermore, the protection is a blanket against sexual relations with all minors – so it might make more sense to you when you replace the 14-year-old with someone younger, like 10 or 11. i think i read somewhere that some states were making the cut-off lower – like 13 or so, and for anybody older, consent would be an issue as it is with majors. anybody able to enlighten on this?

  17. Motives beyond money which jon has can include (perhaps justifiable) vindictiveness

jon doesn’t have money. family is raising money for lawyers as we speak. an indian wall street dude gave him the bail money. so take the money motive off the table.

  18. The entire notion of attributing responsibility to actions by adolescents seems like such a gray area to me. The science seems to indicate that development of neurons in the prefrontal cortex proceeds till the early 20s, and so there is poorer impulse control, and I also assume, higher variation than in adults. Of course, this should necessarily change the way we think about both laws for juveniles, as well as consent.

I wonder if more sophisticated neurological techniques will overhaul the way the law addresses this issue. The New York Times magazine had a great article on this 3 or so months ago.

  19. Anand Jon is one of the main reasons I am no longer an aspiring model. You might say I got a bad taste of what I thought to be typical of the business when I was <18. I was never alone with him thankfully, so nothing bad happened except he was very rude to me and just about every other model who worked with him that wasn’t a signed model from one of the L.A. agencies. No one who walked the runway for him was paid it seemed, even if they traveled many miles for the runway experience and spent many $$$ to get there and WHILE there … I walked the runway well during his show and all he did was complain that I didn’t spend every waking hour in his presence the four days I was in L.A. I spent good money to visit California, was there for 4 or 5 days and never got a chance to SEE the sights until AFTER the runway show (which was the evening before my departure back home) … because he expected me to work for him to prepare for the show and hang out with him and other runway-hungry non-signed models … he hung the carrot in front of us until the very last hour before the show … none of us non-L.A. models knew if he was really going to let us walk or not in the show. He was degrading to the lesser known models who were not fortunate enough to live in a big city to get signed by agencies. After this experience, I gave up all aspirations of modeling, even though I had the look and the height. All these models coming out of the woodwork are merely venting their frustrations over their experiences with him. Especially the ones who were subjected to him sexually. He used his position and title to play lord over all these girls … and his sister was no nicer. If they could have been nicer people, with better Karma, these allegations may never have happened. Anand came from a different culture and had an antiquated idea of how someone with a mere amount of celebrity status should act toward others. He was only nice to those who might increase his celebrity status. I’ve said my piece, to be at peace. I do not however think that Anand should be subjected to cruelty in prison … I truly feel after all this, he has learned a valuable lesson about life … especially in this country. If he is given the opportunity to be free and continue working, it is highly doubtful he will repeat his mistakes.

  21. a 14 year old is capable of consenting to sex

No .A 14 year old is not.

I don’t understand why someone is even allowed to say such a thing here.

A 35 year old having sex with a 14 year old is a padeophile . End of story.

  22. Anand Jon has nothing to fear from anybody. No one less than our NRI minister, Mr. Vayalar Ravi (yes, the filth eating corrupt maggot) has been paid a bundle by Anand Jon mummy to intervene on Anand’s behalf. Just goes to prove how much of a dick Vayalar Ravi is. Any self respecting politician anywhere in the world knows when to duck and avoid bad press. All Indian politicians care about is how much money they can make at the moment, even if it’s defending child molestors and rapists. What a disgusting piece of shit our Vayalar Ravi has proven to be.

  23. First of all, Anand Jon’s a loser with no life. He thought if he could get the girls only if he pretends to hire the girls as modeling and know what? He got what he wanted. But it doesn’t means he eventually OWNED the models. He should be rotten in the jail. Trust me. I’m a guy and my girlfriend was a model for Anand Jon. Been there. Done. He’s idiot.

  24. Anand Jon was creepy even in his school days when he studied in St. Michael’s in Chennai India. I dont think any body ever liked him in school.
