Sick of Scythian-inspired Stupidity

…by which I mean ignorance and racism; I have nothing against ancient warriors who had little to do with the lush paradise in which my parents were born. I’ve largely refrained from the “Scythian”-drama on SM, which has now pindered out to the point where it’s almost an inside joke: “But is she SCYTHIAN??”, etcetera ad nauseum.

Behold, the stunning nescience below, which inspired this unexpected post:

Well not all Punjabis are Scythians, but some are. I don’t look like the small, dark and gumpy looking people there. I’m totally a 6’4″ tall, 220 lbs. White Scythian, not just in complection, but in those jagged Iranic/Germanic Scythian features. U.S. Born, and a U.S. Marine too. Not some unkempt, short darkie, goofy looking son of a bitch like most of those Indian fuckers are. Don’t forget about the Pashtunic, Scythian, White Hun, Magog descendents who decided to stay on the Indian side during 1947. And changed their names to Singh. I got nothing in common with most Singhs, I’m all-American here. My blood’s totally of White Hun/Scythian and Greek lineage. I should change my name back to our original Scythic/Hun and Greek surnames, before my ancestors made the hair brained idea to stay on the Indian side. When they should have fought hard to preserve their Princely States, which do not belong to India or Pakistan. I got nothing in common with Desis in appearance and culture. They’re as bad as the Muslims! The problem is, is that most here are NOT Scythians, so they won’t understand, but it’s foolish to claim that all are Scythic, or none are Scythic. However some are. Also a lot of pure Scythians left India in 1947 and the time after that to come to America. Since their high civilization of their Princely States were robbed and dissolved by the Desis. No worries, though, we’re florishing well here. Just I’m against the current immigration of all these undesirables who don’t belong in America. The immigration rules of the 1950’s, 1960’s were excellent in America. But not anymore, today. With the way things are going, America’s gonna be another 3rd World cesspool if they don’t close the doors to immigration. But it’s all Commie New World Order and the Bibilical End Times now. So go figure. [for shame]

Hmmm. I wonder if he realizes that most of our darkie desi parents came here during that “excellent” era for immigration, i.e. 1965.

Look.

I’m all for being proud of one’s roots and heritage. I’m certainly not ashamed of my undesirable, small, dark and gumpy (??) past. I’m also proud of the fact that like this commenter, my sister is active duty Air Force; I’m a total cheerleader for our troops, but that doesn’t mean I’ll overlook the egregious. You see, there’s being proud and then there’s being pejorative. One can be the former without resorting to the latter. Shocking concept, I know.

If you are someone Gujjar, Sindhi, Kashmiri or whatever and you have some logical right to claim Scythian ancestry, then bully for you. I was always taught that Scythians were blood-drinking, pot-headed, parent-devouring cannibals who didn’t even have a written language, but whatever floats your quasi-supremacist boat. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I keed, I keed.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that you Scythians are unique and special. Just like everyone else. You’re no better or worse. Just like everyone else. So why this fixation on differentiating yourself from us when you quite probably have some of our small, darkie genes too, even if they haven’t expressed themselves in your tall, broad-shouldered, Aryan phenotype? What is up with the proto-racism?

And if you are excessively proud of your purported background, why come to a site populated by inferior darkies to crow about it? People who own Ferraris are fine with obeying the speed limit/staying out of the extreme left lane, I’ve seen it myself. It’s the poser in the uber-modded ________ who has something to prove– and behaves deplorably.

Since I commenced this post because of a comment, let me end with one, too. This was Chachaji’s response to CinnamonRani, over on the Skin Color Matters thread:

I think discrimination based on skin color(or for that matter discrimination based on any visible markers of difference) is an innately human behavior. It takes a lot of conscious effort to see beyond the visible marker at an individual level. This requires training, sensitization, consciousness raising, and it has to happen all the time, in every generation. Although one makes distinctions precisely because one is human, it is also because one is human that one can become aware that one is doing so, and learn not to base significant decisions on these markers. People who claim they are not racists are often being not so much dishonest as ignorant of their own psychological processes. [link]

Better yet, have a cup of Possibly Scythian-descended Camille:

Honestly, when people say this, I wonder if folks recognize that this is just another way of playing into ideas of white supremacy and a “white on top” racial hierarchy? PARTICULARLY when they start throwing in color (e.g. “Oh I’m much more like (fair-skinned) Aryans than (dark) south Indians.” It’s racist and stupid, through and through…[link].

What do you think? Be respectful, please. I’d love to have a discussion where we hash this out, for once and all, but that won’t happen if this thread gets shut down. Scythe away at each other accordingly. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. “You would actually be amazed the number of times I have witnessed that exact same exchange take place. I seriously cannot count them on my hands and feet. The irony being of course, that Turks are generally “whiter” than ethnic Persians, even in the case of Iranian Turks.” hmm. Interesting. that’s what a 1000 years of chador wearing will do for your ego. That and an obsession with stiletto heels and mascara. Of course Persians vary, and are actually the chamelions of the world in my opinion, blending in with whatever majority population to which they emigrate. I’ve seen this–it’s like magic sometimes. Don’t get your knickers in a twist about Mr. Scythian; he is taking the mickey. He doesn’t know Scythian from Aeolian. Few of us do.

  2. Branch Davidian, re: #122, dang, that was good. What, is everyone else too young to get it or they just don’t like Broadway showtunes?

  3. Damn, when did Scythians become so touchy ? They’ve traded in fermented mare’s milk for frappacinos and drink out of crystal instead of skulls. Was it really worth accomodating these aspects of modernity to become CPAs and I-bankers ? Arise oh fallen Saka-Kambojas ! The steppes beckon “Leave the scorching peninsula to those gumpy dosa tossers, ravish the pastures of Eurasia upon your hardy steeds !”

  4. I am the one and only pure Arya left on the planet, and impregnating a woman who isn’t as pure as me gives me the hibbyjibbies.

  5. and impregnating a woman who isn’t as pure as me gives me the hibbyjibbies.

I guess you’ll just have to count on your one and only pure Arya hand for company, then.

  6. I wonder if it’s possible to do Scythian drag. You know, get on stilts, bleach your skin, that sort of thing?

Love the people of Iran! So delish. Actually, also the Turks, the Lebanese, the Pathans, the Punjabis, the Sindhis…well, you can probably figure out where this is going.

  7. I think the real comedy here is Scythian Prince’s guestbook where he and “Mike” are having a little spat.

    “Tall”‘s Guestbook of Justice.

The most memorable I think of the entries is when Scyth uses the threat “Go eat some beef or pork.” Gave me the shivers.

heh. heh. truth is stranger than fiction indeed. the blind black klansman meets david duke.

  9. I’m sorry I’m so late to this thread, but reading these comments have really made me heartsick. I think what this guy wrote is disgusting, horrific, racist, etc. That said, the rebuttals to his arguments have been incredibly racist as well. I think it’s fully possible to critique someone’s bizarre notions of self without devolving into a “well your people are scum” or “your ethnic history is filth!” conversation. It’s one thing to understand your (diverse) ethnic history, and another to try to turn this into a discussion of racial superiority. This goes for all parties involved (i.e. both those supporting and negating this guy’s comments).

I just think any discussion trying to aim at racial “purity” is ridiculous, and I also think these disgusting conversations that are trying to degrade his comment by degrading any and everyone remotely connected to a comparable (ethnic) history are foul. At the end of the day, we’re all way more similar than we are dissimilar. Can’t we just see these comments for what they are — racist drivel. Please, let’s not pander to the same low standard.

  10. Hi Folks,

Since everyone is taking a dig as this “racist”I will add my two cents. It is a fact of Indian history that there were incursions of invaders from Central Asia around the birth of Christ and up till 650 A.D. These were Sakas, Greco-Bactrians, Kushans, and White Huns.

To claim that some of the inhabitants of the Northwest India and Pakistan are at any rate partially descended from these ancient invaders is not a ludicrous theory.

But to go around claiming you are Scythian and have some social assumptions or ritual purity ideas from it are entirely ludicrous.

Still the overreaction to “Scythian’s” comment is also something that warrants study!

  11. I maybe wrong, but It seems like that among immigrants to west from India. The darker south indians are much more educated, then the precious fair skin northern indians. Also the female abortion problem and the runaway groom problem is much bigger in Northern India, then in South India. Also I’m a fair skin North Indian.

North India (Jatts, Jats, Rajputs) feedd (farming/agriculture) and protect (army) the country of India – so Karthik Rao Subramanian can concentrate on studies/education 100%. Without Jatts/Jats/Rajputs, Karthik Rao Subramianian may be Kader Ali Pathan a starving South Indian.

  12. I think it is funny! Reality check Punjabis are the foundation of Silicon Valley; Vindo Khosla, Vinod Dham, Sabeer Bhatia, Narinder Kapany & Kanwal Rekhi. Many of the Punjabis are the founders of companies. It is true that Southern Indians are many in the valley but that the Punjabis on the other hand have a leading role in starting companies per capita to their population.

Now back to the Scythian thing. The genetic DNA tests show that the Jatts & Khatris have a western European mitochondrial DNA and higher than Brahmins. The Lohri celebration is akin to the Nowrooz celebration.

Many of the cultural aspects are similiar too.

This is also why Saka Kshatriyas, don’t look like Indians, and are tall, strong, with that Greek and Central Asian appearance, and red in complection.

Now I understand where Laurent Garnier got his inspiration for his video and song. It all makes sense now.

  14. sm intern…how is it that this thread has not been closed? some of these comments are the definition of hateful and racist. if you must let free speech prevail, do away with the posting policy altogether

[A N N A: Please write in and let us know if you see that an old thread like this has been vandalized…sometimes it’s hard to nail every awful comment, without such an assist. I’ve deleted the troll’s comments.]

  15. looks like you grew an inch since the last time you commented, huh, bub? Still haven’t learned to format when you copy and paste, though. I guess they don’t teach that in Scythian school. Or maybe Scythian lines of text are just way longer than regular lines of text.

Oh, and you’re just way wrong on your notions of racial origins, too. But whatever, you’re also a stupid troll.
