  1. He can take it – Manish is not slandering an entire group of people, merely parodying an individual.

  2. Ooops. I mistyped. I was confused b/c the guy looked sort of desi to me, and I hadn’t read the original story yet. That being said, I fully support Manish’ right and effort to express his outrage with satire.

Alas, you’re sort of preaching to the converted here, aren’t you? We need the kind of people from his own industry to take notice.

  3. I think its done in poor taste, but it looks like he’s talking about political terrorists pushing around his industry. Not sure if you can justify him being a bigot.

  4. Yes, why not fight the abuse of “first amendment” with first amendment? I think the flyer is great. As long as google or other searches keep showing up this post, the job of spreading the word is done, in one sense.

  5. I just found a printed article (which is being quoted on this site ‘poison pills’) and in there this guy apologizes for offending anyone with the flyer, yet that part seems to have been removed from this site! And he never says anything about being a hatemonger. This is not my first time on this site, but it looks to me like who ever posted those quotes is just trying to blow this out of proportion. Good job on the propaganda ennis

So Bin Bajwa, Let’s say I called you a “clueless and illiterate moron” and then apologized for it and said that I wasn’t trying to be mean. If you then complained would your complaint be considered propoganda? Would you be blowing it out of proportion?

Where’s the link, scan or quote?

Good job on the propaganda ennis

    Pot, meet kettle.

  8. Bin Bajwa:

Each quote is followed by a link to the article from which it was taken. For example,

Even Jerry Kessler, director of the Nutritional Health Alliance, chief executive officer of N.Y.-based Natural Organics and designer of the circular, said it was a purely political response to regulations proposed by Durbin. He also agreed the flier was “not fair” and “in bad taste.” “Desperate times require desperate actions,” Kessler said. “I’m certainly going to do what’s necessary to call attention to our cause. If I sound to you like a hate-monger, then I can’t help it.” More than a million copies of the flier were sent to vitamin and supplement buyers, and Kessler said he’s responded personally to phone calls and letters from people he has offended. [Link]

If you click on the link and scroll down, you’ll see that the quote is not edited cleverly in any way, and all the words are from the original article. I have no idea what the printed copy of the article says.

  9. Manish OFF TOPIC why is mittal a sensitive topic? Is steel industry a problem….

  10. Celeb posts are problematic. Every single comment we got last time was someone hitting him up for a job or cash, or flaming said lamers.

  11. Huh!?! Hitting for a job? on a blog? to Mittal? Those guys must be going crazy.. for cash ? :D. Manish, I say, close the thread, but keep those comments. It will spread much merriment around.

I mean how exactly one hits for cash? “Hey Mittal, have some spare change..no? ok, how abt a steel rod?”
