  1. SHIT is that at Amber fort in Jaipur…i was there like a month ago, and have a nearly identical picture….HAHA…sorry this is a terrible comment

  2. Fantastic!! I was there in sweltering July!! Sigh!!! But I sure do not have such wonderful pics. Thanks.

  3. I was there in March, and an Indian woman does sit sideways (well, I did). And, the men sat sideways, as well.
It was a pretty cool experience, except for the elephant nostril juices that kept hitting our legs.

  4. in a sari, yes side-saddle is acceptable. In a suit or jeans, go for equality and giddy-up 😉

  5. These pictures are gorgeous. (Obviously I’m dying of boredom at work.) I’ve just been inspired to upgrade to a digital camera for my upcmoing trip to the desh. (I know, I know…I’m like the last person on earth who hasn’t gone digital yet…there’s just something so exciting about waiting for pictures to develop, and then getting to hold them and give copies to your friends, etc…I’m lame) Any suggestions? Don’t laugh at me, but I want a cute, girly one.

I don’t believe in film vs.digital wars, but if you must go digital get the canon 1Ds mark 2. Just kidding, that’s a bit pricey; so, the canon rebel digital slr is good enough (the nikons are good, too, but I’m more familiar with canon models). Unless you want to go with a point and shoot camera instead… I don’t know anything about those, but if you’re going on a fabulous trip, I HIGHLY recommend getting a reasonable price digital slr (35mm camera) instead of a point and shoot. After all, the memories are priceless. These days, most 35mm slr’s have automatic functions as well, so you don’t really have to worry about being a pro.

So, not lame, sista! I’m with you on that one. If you still use film try black and white infrared for some really cool results you can’t get with digital. Still lots of reasons to use film, so don’t knock it. And you won’t get that wonky white balance problem (overblown results) that you get with cheap digital cameras.

If you have any other questions, please ask. Oh, and please don’t succumb to the store clerk’s pressures: camera store clerk’s are usually on commission and will pressure you to buy a certain camera or model based on the bonuses they get.
