I’d like to crunch THOSE Numb3rs

Geez. When did I become such a crass male? That has got to be the worst entry title ever. What inspired such a thought in me? Well, I was watching the premiere of the new CBS drama Numb3rs which happens to co-star former OC actress Navi Rawat. Rawat plays mathematics graduate student Amita Ramanuj who will possibly be a love interest to one of the two Eppes brothers who are the shows main characters. In the show’s pilot, the father (played by Judd Hirsch)of the two brothers, asks math wiz Charlie why he isn’t dating Ramanuj. Apparently he’s her thesis advisor. Damn college ethics. Besides, she replied she was spoken for and made some reference to arranged marriage plans her mother was making.

  1. An interesting scene in the episode was how Amita touches the blackboard where the Eppes bro was solving a problem – as if she was seduced even by his writing.

  2. Yea, a math genius bagging a good looking lady. If that was the case then all the engineering students, TA’s, and profs would the rock stars on campus. Just like those music videos.

We would all have our Betty, just like ER Doc did in Revenge of the Nerds. HELLO Aish, I am a math genius, wanna see my partial differential equation? Want to see a solution of a dynamic double pendulum, or how about the Navier Stokes equations?

    Alas, its only a fantasy.

  3. In addition to Navi Rawat, the next episode of “Numb3rs” will feature desi actor Ajay Mehta. He plays the role of a software manager.

The show airs on Friday, January 28 at 10 p.m. on CBS.

  6. the most impossible part of this dream is not the idea that a math guy could do a hot babe, but the idea that a hot babe could do math πŸ™‚

  7. no fair to all the hot babe math geeks out there…. like the Romanian math Ph.D. student (female and very hot!) at my school… sure I’m a girl but I know a hot babe when I see one too.

When I was in high school I joined math club to meet guys……..

  8. “When I was in high school I joined math club to meet guys…….”

TEASE!!!! Please do not state such blasphemy!

    grin

  9. I was a member of the Math Club in high school Ҁ” we did it as a scam to get a trip to Great America in order to study Ҁœthe mathҀ involved in roller coaster rides Ҁ” and even I’ll admit, there are far better places to meet guys.

  10. Lest us not forget The King of Queens, George Lopez, Still Standing, Listen Up (Jason Alexander), Center of the Universe, According to Jim, and Quintuplets…

I lost 20 lbs, got in good shape/good health, finished grad school, and kept my emotional and mental faculties sharp, only to be told by prime-time that the only way to get a beautiful, caring, sincere, witty, independent, emotionally stable and common-sense based woman is if I’m: fat, uncouth, crass (which is not always a bad thing πŸ˜‰ ), and work in a dead-end job…

I escaped geekdom once I entered college and escaped the confines of Ky (think little bee from the Blind Melon “No Rain” video)…now, they’re telling me I shouldn’t hae escaped in the first place?
