Wonderful. Now how do you say Sepia Mutiny in Spanish? You may have to seriously consider dual-language banners.

  2. Now how do you say Sepia Mutiny in Spanish?

One of three ways, I’m not sure which: El sepia motin, El motin sepia or El motin de sepia.

  3. I don’t speak Spanish, but as far as I know, in Romance languages adjectives usually follow the nouns they modify, so it wouldn’t be el sepia motin.

  4. And when he was living in L.A. there was less of a need for a spanish Sepia Mutiny banner? I’m just sayin’…

L.A. misses you already – there’s tumbleweed rolling through the abandoned offices you have deserted here… Have fun setting up the new digs!

  5. They speak Spanish in Texas? I thought they spoke some weird Tex-Mex hybrid, heavy on the slang. Since the sepia/sepoy pun won’t translate, I recommend something else. Maybe including the word MEGA, or the suffix CHANGALA, like something you would hear on one of those low-fi border town radio stations. Definitely need to trick out the name for the new locale.

  6. Pardner!

The great state of Texas welcomes you with open arms! As they say,”you are now in a whole new country :-)” When are you up for some shooting and hunting?

Texas A&M Aggies play the California Bears tonight in the Holiday Bowl at San Diego. In spite of a fairly OK season and beating the Texas “Longwhorns”, I do not have much faith in our team’s performance. Therefore, I will desist from smack talk. BTW, UCLA got owned by FSU yesterday.

    Regards, Aninda

  7. Sweet, best news I have heard since I moved from SF to Dallas. Now if only we could also move the ocean, the mountains and mi amigos y amigas para Cali.

  8. Congratulations on your move, Abhi!

Wouldn’t it be “el motin sepio”? (since adjectives come after the noun and the case has to agree – masculine noun, masculine adj)

  9. Welcome!everything is bigger in Texas. y’all know the deal… mos def want to be part of the H-town Bureau.

    buenas suertes mi amigo.

  10. That weird tex-mex hybrid is spanglish, like hinglish, you know… Let’s say, in Spanish it would definately be “el motín sepia”, but I can’t even imagine what it would be in spanglish. So why Houston and not Dallas? SM is widely read in Dallas too!

  11. We may have our first Texas meet-up in February.

Whats special about Feb? How about March-ish? Even I (probably) can drive out there then (spring break). Its like 11 hours.

  12. Well it’s about damn time to show some love to the Lone Star State. A little Texan slang for ya.

Just remember it ain’t braggin’ if it’s true.
Everything is bigger in Texas Don’t Mess with Texas.

I grew up in Austin and went to school in New Jersey (Drew University, not the second best school in NJ aka Princeton), so everyone there literally thought I lived on a ranch and rode a horse to school. Of course everyone from Texas thought I went to school next to an oil refinery or a toxic waste dump.

Pensamientos y Seyd – no worries mate. I’m in Big D and I know of one other lurker in Dallas, so that’s three possibly four. Houston claims to have better restaurants but Dallas has a fair amount of flavor.

verdad, el titulo probablemente sera el motin de sepio y un escribador de ese obra sera un amotinado o amotinador

  13. Hola Asha’s dad, the Dallas lurker is now commenting ;). We need some SM action in town.

  14. oops! I meant Abhi! Duh. Still caught up in Siddartha’s music post, and post-post reverie.

Abhi and I are both on drugs. But you knew that already, no?

  15. Welcome to Texas! It takes five years for Houston to grow on you, but once it does, you will love it forever.

  16. YAY!! Welcome to Houston, SM!!!!

Can’t wait for the meetup to happen. Anybody doing anything for New Year in H’town?

  17. Welcome to Texas! It takes five years for Houston to grow on you, but once it does, you will love it forever.

    It takes four.

  18. Now the real key is what’s in the basement of the Alamo?

Pee Wee’s bike. I double checked last time I was there.

  19. Word–the Houston meetup must happen. Perhaps at a venue where the crunkage flows freely and cheaply?

  20. Another mostly-lurker from Dallas is happy to have Abhi in Texas, even if it is Houston. Can’t wait for the meetup ! 🙂
