If anyone wants to go to the classical music concert to benefit the victims of the Pakistan quake, I’ve got free tickets for you courtesy of my cousin the conductor. The catch is that it’s today at 7.30pm at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan. On the menu: Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. Email me for the tickets.
Awww Manish…some heads up that was! 🙂 2 hour notice after everyone on the east coast has probably left work!!
Argh….I envy you twofold…one for being on the west coast, and the other fold being able to attend Beethoven’s 9th. Enjoy the evening, and do provide a commentary.
I and my wife were the very, very lucky beneficiaries of Manish’s genorisity. Sufice to say, last eve I and the missus had an experience we will not forget for a very long time.
Beethoven’s 9th was my first western classical concert – what a great start. Thanks again, Manish.
p.s. hung out with your [uber talented -conductor & tenor] cousin [Ankush Bahl] at the post concert reception. Great time was had..
i also took advantage of manish’s generosity, and good thing too because the performance was wonderful. i’d seen the 9th performed twice before and this was definitely the most powerful and resonant, aided in part by carnegie hall’s near perfect acoustics and magnificent building.
the only damper on the night was the attendance… unfortunately, a little more than half the floor seats were empty (which should not be taken in any way to be a reflection of the performance)… i guess word just didn’t get out enough. i wonder if there’s a need here to create some sort of mass distribution system to help non profit events advertise….
