I love these signs. The road to Darjeeling, notorious for bad driving, also has these types of signs. As a kid, reading those sings was the only interesting thing I could do on the long and winding road.
I’d sometimes wonder whose job it was to come up with these rhyming slogans.. there’s poetry in them hills, I tell you.
Too bad… most of those driving like “hell” cant read this funny signs. !!!
I am not trying to be a wise-a$$ ..just a note. The signs are preety funny. Someone had fun creating them.
hmmm.. on second thought in that region most drivers would be the Army drivers. So they would be ABLE to read the signs.

LOL. Is this a problem in India? I think couples should probably start living separate from their parents, so they don’t have to use the car as a bedroom.

There’s a big road in Nagpur that has signs just like these. I was there last year and I remember them being even funnier than the ones posted. If anyone can get pictures of those please post them or send them my way.
🙂 Nice pics, thanks for the post. Brought back memories of a trip to Ladakh last year. There were a few more in this vein, bordering on the rude/sexist. One that comes to mind, “Don’t gossip! Let him drive!!” There was another one, really hilarious, on the way from Khardung-la to Leh, but alas its forgotten now…

Came to this very nice post through Sunil’s comment at Charu’s blog. My favourite is not a real road sign, but one I found in a Ponnappa cartoon in the Bangalore edition of the Times of India (a looong time ago):
In the cartoon, you see two people from behind them; one of them is driving his car. Through the windshield, you also see a sign. It reads:
“Caution: Road Ahead”.

my visit to kargil on 23rd May 08 has beeb quite amazing one and pleased to know that i travelled to Drass said to be the highest road of the world,thanks to to the Himank for roads and signs all over the roads
