Turbanhead brings our attention to an album of Hindi ABBA covers from the 1970s with puzzling translations of song names:
Ho Jayegi Badnami (Money, Money, Money), Mitha Maze Dar (Dancing Queen), Pehil Pehli Preet (Super Trooper), Toba Toba (Mama Mia), etc
Too cool & weird. Isn’t this the same Salma Agha who went on to release solo albums, and act in some Bollywood movies??
Hi – sounds weird, but cool, so where do we get it? 🙂
Here’s an audio sample of “Mitha Maze Dar:”

This might work a bit better:

According to the IMDB it is the same Salma Agha – this LP now released on Cd by Rough Trade in the UK
Goddammit, now i know why Indian actors need singers to sing for them. This Agha chick seems as bad as Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia when it comes to singing ABBA songs.
