The Arizona Republic is reporting that both John Cho and Kal Penn have signed on for two more sequels to the wildly popular (at least with the Sepia Mutiny crowd), Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle film. The writing has begun on the first sequel with the internet rumors being correct, it is entitled “Harold and Kumar Go to Amsterdam.”
Whether or not it’s going to be made depends on the financial receipts from DVD sales and rentals,” Kal Penn adds. “If you liked the movie, please rent or buy it – it’ll assure that we’ll bring you another one next year.”
As indicated in another SM post, the “Extreme Unrated” DVD of the film went on sale this past Tuesday, so go out there and buy it now!
I guess that makes them tokin’ minorities.
This should be worth watching. Instead of the LotR trilogy, desis are going to get their own HaKgtWC trilogy?
Would it be funny if they ran into the crew from Half baked?
Even funnier if they smoked up with Jay & Silent Bob!
Even funnier if they ran into Redman and methodman from How High
Make another Movie I will watch it I think it’s better than “How High”
All those Friday evenings spent praying for a H&K sequel have come true!!
I think they should do the one in Amsterdamn, and then a few years down the road, they do the third movie and fall into a cliche but super fun scenario that goes like this: Kumar’s now a prominent surgeon, happily engaged to by married, and Harold’s some sort of bigshot VP. They’ve kind of lost touch and they’re all “Look at me, look at how grown up I am”. Something happens to make them think about one another, either an old Christmas card, or someone mentions one to the other, and then run into each other randomly. They end up reminiscing over drinks or dinner and realize that they both live ideal lives… but ideal for who? Not for them… Kumar’s about to marry a girl that is every bit his parent’s ideal, but not who he had ever seen himself marrying, and Harold, though working at a high level in the corporate world, is in a career that leaves him worn, weary, lonely and unsatisfied at the end of the day. (He royally f’d up things with Maria and she ended up getting with some other guy because Harold didn’t have the balls to ask her to marry him.) They decide to go on a last adventure. Where? I don’t know – it’s not my job, dammit. The screenwriter has to have something left to do. But they get high and get in some fun trouble along the way. Their capers lead them to realize that the changes that they want made in their life are solely up to them, just like they did years ago during that fateful trip to White Castle. Harold ends up finding Maria at the altar and finally gets the balls to ask her to marry him. She tells him “It’s always been you!!” and she runs off with him still her in wedding dress. Kumar ends up breaking up with his fiance – either that or he realizes that he doesn’t have to repress his real wacky personality around her. There’s two ways that one could go.
Anyways, there’s are some epiphanies, a lot of laughs, and a lot of 420.
And I’m out.
Fuerza Dulce,
Er, isn’t that the plot for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai ?
wink
Exactly.
It’s bound to be a hit!
Fuerza Dulce and Jai Singh, it seems more like the Vivek Oberoi movie “Masti” which if you haven’t seen it, is hilariously raunchy, as only Hindi movies can be!
There’s a reason I said it was a cliche scenario. 😀 So bad, but soooo gooooddd.
Much like many other things in life ahem
